Directions
From the west (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse)
Smaller RVs and cars
Take I-90 east (NY Thruway) to Exit 30 (Herkimer). Follow Route 28 south about 11 miles to the light at Route 28 and US 20. Turn left onto US 20 east and follow it about 9 miles through Richfield Springs and two lights. Continue 4 more miles past the second light (Route 80) to East Springfield, then make the first right onto County Highway 31. The entrance is one mile on your right.
Larger motorhomes and travel trailers
Herkimer is hard to maneuver in a big rig. Take I-90 east to Exit 31 (Route 12 south, Utica/New Hartford), then Route 8 south to Bridgewater. Turn left onto US 20 east through West Winfield and Richfield Springs. Continue through two more lights, then 4 more miles past the Route 80 light to East Springfield. First right onto County Highway 31; the entrance is one mile on your right.
From the south (Binghamton, Pennsylvania)
Smaller RVs and cars
Take I-88 east to Exit 17 (Route 28, Cooperstown) and follow Route 28 north into Cooperstown. After the railroad tracks, continue straight (it becomes 80 east, Chestnut St.) to the light at Main Street and turn right. Pass the flagpole and the Hall of Fame, cross the small river bridge and climb the hill; the road bends sharply left and becomes County Highway 31. Follow it 9.5 miles. The entrance is on your left, 3 miles past Glimmerglass State Park.
Larger motorhomes and travel trailers
The left turn into the campground from that direction is very difficult for a large RV, so go around the other side of the lake. Follow the same route to the light at Main Street, go straight through (this is 80 east) and follow 80 east about 10 miles to the light at US 20. Turn right onto US 20 east for 4 miles to East Springfield, then take the first right onto County Highway 31. The entrance is one mile on your right.
From the east (Albany, Lake George, New York City)
All vehicles
From Albany take I-90 west (NY Thruway) to Exit 25A (I-88, Binghamton), then I-88 to Exit 24 (Duanesburg). At the top of the ramp turn left across the bridge, then right at the stop sign onto US 20 west. Follow US 20 west about 40 to 45 minutes through Esperance, Carlisle, Sharon and Sharon Springs, past the Cherry Valley exit, into East Springfield. Take the first left onto County Highway 31 at the bottom of the hill. The entrance is one mile on your right.

Drive times from the campground. The Village trolley runs Memorial Day to Labor Day from lots on the edge of Cooperstown (not from the campground).
