Fishing at Shadow Brook: a stocked pond steps from your campsite

You don’t need a boat, a license or a long drive to go fishing on a Shadow Brook weekend. Our 3 acre pond sits right in the middle of the campground, and it’s stocked.

No license needed

The pond is private, so nobody in your family needs a New York fishing license to fish it. Kids can grab a rod and walk down to the water as soon as you’re set up.

Catch and release

Every fish goes back in the water, so the pond stays full for the next family. Take your photo, then let it go.

What you might catch

Plenty of small fish, and some surprisingly big ones. One camper put it this way on Google: “The crystal-clear pond was one of our favorite parts. Whether you’re catching small fish or huge catfish, it’s a great spot to spend time.”

Fish from your own campsite

Our waterside sites sit right on the pond, so your morning coffee and your first cast can happen in the same spot. In 2026, waterside water and electric sites run $60 to $80 a night, and big rig waterside sites $65 to $90, depending on the season. Ask for a waterside site when you book.

Before you go

  • Bait is sold at the General Store, which closes at 7 pm.
  • Want to get out on the water? Paddle boats are $5 per person per half hour.
  • Stay for the evening: the fountain in the middle of the pond lights up after dark.
